Project Intelligence

The Environment: A controlled studio environment, completely isolated from external vibrations using pneumatic leveling tables.

Key Visual Anchors:

  • The Micro-Landscapes: By using specialized probe lenses, we turned the surface of rusting gears and oxidizing copper into alien landscapes, revealing the chaotic beauty of material decay.
  • The Fluid Dynamics: We introduced high-viscosity fluids and reactive chemicals to the metallic surfaces, capturing the creeping, organic spread of oxidation at 2000 frames per second.

Technical Execution: The primary challenge was light starvation. Pushing an f/14 probe lens to high framerates required massive, heat-generating continuous light sources. We had to engineer a custom liquid-cooling system for the subjects to prevent the heat from altering the chemical reactions we were trying to capture.
